A structured questionnaire with demographic data and school/ work functioning during the years of mental disorderwas applied in a random sample of 73 patients (universe = 300). Of the 61 (83.6%) who worked before the mental disorder, 26 (35.6%) are still active. There was a decrease of 38.5% in formality with informality rise. Licenses (19.0%) and pensions (28.6%) were prevalent male, and 57.1% of absences are related to mental disorder. Unemployment reached 37%, especially those over 55 years (41.7%).
