El lenguaje retórico de <i>La Celestina</i>Patrizia Di PatreThe object of the present study is the «open» problem represented by the anomalistic use of the traditional rhetoric patrimony in La Celestina. When the conditions of the aberrant phenomenon are recognized («flowers of wisdom», thesaurus of moral loci in function of contrary terms to the primordial objectives) the cause is identified with the contradictory ambivalence, or the double inferencial capability, of the exposed reasoning in the book. The consequent fallacy (generated by the break-up of the famous Aristotelian tautology, expressed in a symbolic way  as P v -P) is revealed, thanks to an imponent textual presence, as the true target of the irony in La Celestina. The article concludes by giving to the rhetoric exhibition in the text, with its universal applicability, the functions of a giant demonstration per absurdum of the inherent inanity within herselfhttps://ojs.uv.es/index.php/celestinesca/article/view/20049celestinalugar comúnambivalencia contradictoriaretóricalógica clásicaparodia
