Thanks to the nonoperative curative management approach of these injuries, an increase in number of preservations of this organ has been registered. As a new acquisition in spleen preservation, after blunt abdominal trauma, splenic artery embolization has increased the success rate of nonoperative management (NOM) up to 97-99%.
