Este artículo da cuenta de un avance de las tareas de investigación orientadas a la caracterización de los estudiantes y contextualización de los Institutos de Educación Superior de San Juan, en que cursan sus carreras. La caracterización obtenida nos permite centralmente mostrar que trabajamos con poblaciones estudiantiles que mayoritariamente tienen recorridos discontinuos, zigzagueantes, que se salen de los cauces previstos de las trayectorias teóricas proyectadas por el sistema, que salen, vuelven y transitan un sistema binario de diferente manera: en la universidad se mudan entre las facultades; de las facultades se cambian a los institutos superiores y también a su vez se mudan entre los institutos sin dejar de encarar aún otras opciones en el sector privado. Sus experiencias nos permiten mostrar que en ocasiones estos espacios funcionan como el ámbito que los excluye para tener un lugar, mientras que otros se visibilizan como la posibilidad de resistir la exclusión, de seguir en el sistema afirmando el derecho a ser, a permanecer, a insistir y resistir. / This article presents the state of progress of a research work aimed at the characterization of the students and the contextualization of the higher education institutions in San Juan, Argentina, where they study. The resulting characterization shows that the student populations we are currently working with mostly have discontinuous or zigzagging trajectories; they move out of the path established by the theoretical trajectories projected by the system; they quit and return circulating through a binary system in a different way: while they are at university, they move among the different faculties; from the faculties they usually move to higher education institutes, and once there they also move among institutes while considering other options in the private sector as well. Their experiences show that on certain occasions these educational spaces function as areas that exclude them from having a place of belonging, while other spaces are visualized as the possibility to resist exclusion, to remain in the system asserting the right to be, to stay, to insist and resist.
