Summary:In the sources where comedy historical adventure is examined, it is seen that various concepts such as “farce” and “comedy” are used. The comedy, which aims to make the audience laugh, has attracted great attention since the beginning of the cinema and has become one of the basic genres of cinema. The comedy, which evaluates human beings in social life, can reflect the society with its most realistic appearance with its rational and objective orientation, as well as criticizing the problems of the society and thus contributing to the social awareness. From a dialectial point of wiev, comedy is life in a sense and life is comedy. In the process extending from the 1970s until today, Turkey has experienced political, military, technological, social, cultural and economic advances in Turkish cinema. Turning characters like Şaban “immediatly” into Recep is a change in society culture. In this study, it is aimed to reveal the social changes of comedy characters in Turkish cinema which are in interaction with cultural structure and in line with the changes occurred in our society since the 1970s.
