Description
Summary:The article presents the results of a study of migration processes in the Republic of Kazakhstan in the estimates of migrants. The main source of data is a questionnaire survey of migrants living in the border area of Kazakhstan and Russia, namely in the East Kazakhstan region. The purpose of the study is to identify the specifics of the current migration situation in Kazakhstan and the factors influencing migration mobility of numerous ethnic groups of the Republic; to assess the impact on migration of the degree of ethnic identity and inclusion in ethnic culture; to analyze the directions of the state policy on migration management in the Republic. To achieve this goal, the following tasks were set and solved: the research works on migration processes and migration activity are analyzed; the socio-economic situation, national composition and the state of migration processes in the Republic of Kazakhstan in the context of globalization are determined; the migration processes and migration activity of the population of the border regions of the Republic of Kazakhstan and Russia are analyzed; the features of the manifestation of migration activity in the context of the relations of the host community in the border regions. Modern sociological theories of population migration allow us to describe such a dynamically changing social phenomenon as migration from the point of view of the prospects of economic development of countries, as well as from the point of view of socio-cultural transformation that social structures and institutions undergo in modern society. The methodology of the considered theories brings sociological discourse to the level of analysis of social space not in its classical interpretation, but in understanding it as transnational, that is, beyond the rigidly crystallized national-territorial units. The article presents the analysis of modern sociological theories of population migration; the content of a number of key concepts is clarified; the expediency of the sociological approach to the study of migration as a social process is substantiated; based on the analysis of changes, the socio-economic situation, national composition and the state of migration processes in the Republic of Kazakhstan in the context of globalization are determined; the features of the manifestation of migration activity in the context of the relations of the host community in the border regions are determined (based on sociological research). The scientific significance and practical value of the research is determined by the acute relevance in the field of migration, as well as a set of tasks aimed at theoretical and methodological and specifically sociological study of migration processes in the context of globalization.
