Social music video. Narrative and aesthetic análisis

<p>The work focuses on making a narrative and formal-aesthetic analysis of the video of social focus through a sample of ten videoclips of recent years. A description of this audiovisual format is made following a review of the few academic works that have tackled popular music as a source of reflection on social issues and forms of representation of social resistance. The methodology uses thematic analysis, formal aesthetics and the measurement of the ASL (Average Shot Lenght or Average of plane duration) as criteria of study. The results point to a characterization of the video clip with social themes focusing on characters, with a type of staging and aesthetics, together with certain types of correspondence between the rhythm of visual change and musical pulse.</p>
