The new European Higher Education Area includes the development of abilities, such us the capacity to choose the appropriate representation system, using advanced technological tools and developing the capacity for spatial vision. The study was conducted with students in Arts Degree from the University of La Laguna during the academic year 2010-2011. The software chosen for the workshop has been Google Sketchup 8, free version. To measure the results of the pilot study, students completed a survey of effectiveness, efficiency and satisfaction on the Workshop, and it was measured the effect of spatial vision using the Mental Rotation Test (MRT). The results show that this kind of initiatives allow to improve the skills of students.http://revistas.ucm.es/index.php/ARIS/article/view/39025CompetenciasEspacio Europeo de Educación SuperiorInnovación EducativaNuevas TecnologíasVisión Espacial
