Many political and military analysts from NATO and non-NATO countries agree, almost unanimously, that for the last 10 years the world has entered a dangerous state of turmoil. From the resurgence and extreme aggression of Islamic fundamentalism to the emergence of new nuclear weapon holders in state-dictatorships and culminating with the political, propaganda, economic and military aggression of the Russian Federation (Georgia-2008, Ukraine - 2014 - up to date) - all these developments must give reasons to worry to the responsible world leaders. In this complicated geopolitical context, Romania as a European memberstate of the European Union and of NATO has the obligation to remain vigilant on a permanent basis, contributing in good faith to the collective defence, while strengthening its internal democracy
