Summary:The schopenhauerian concept of “acquired character” articulates the difficulty to found the conditions of possibility of such a learning in lifetime before the refusal of the empirical freedom.  Although it is certainly not about Freiheit (Freedom), on the other hand there is no need to suppose that a certain space of action as the condition of possibility to the Wisdom of Life does not exist. Thus, this article aims to examine the notion of Spielraum (Space of maneuvre, Margin of action) as a reading key to Schopenhauer’s eudemonological proposition.
