A critical discussion of the book of S.K. Korb «A catalogue of butterflies of the ex-USSR, with remarks on systematics and nomenclature» (Nizhny Novgorod, 2005) is provided. Inaccuracies in the interpretation of the distribution of a number of species on the territory of European Russia are noted. All newly-described taxa and some earlier described subspecies from the given territory are synonymized: 1.
