Description
Summary:In 1989 - 2003 period, there were positive development trends of the world production and international trade of milk and cheese. Production and trade of butter, with small variations, nearly stagnated. At the same time, with the exception of butter production, where Asia dominated, Europe had leading positions in the relation to all other mainlands, considering all three products, according to all other attributes. In the same period, within Serbia and Montenegro, due to well known historical, socio-political economic-systems and other, in the following text suggested reasons, very negative tendencies were expressed in the development of important market indices of all three tested products. Namely, during the second period (1999 - 2003) in the relation to the first one (1989 - 1992), production and redemption of milk were decreased for 5,5, regarding 16,2 %, cheese for 20,3, regarding 88,0 % and butter for 19,2, regarding 78,6 %. Consumption of these products per capita was reduced significantly. Realisation of planned balance indices would contribute, first of all, to stabilization of domestic market of milk and milk products, to strengthening of material position of producers, to improvement of national diet quality, and especially, to making balanced relations in domestic foreign trade exchange of aforementioned products.
