A critical check-list of the Charophytes from the Iberian Peninsula, based on literature records and original data, is presented. It includes 46 taxa, including 26 species, 14 varieties and 6 forms, from 5 genera: Chara, Lamprothamnium, Nitella, Nitellopsis and Tolypella.
