The study of scientific-methodical and pedagogical literature on the problem of social and psychological opportunities and limitations in distance learning in higher education institutions were used. The article presents the views of scholars on the theoretical aspects of social and psychological opportunities and limitations of distance education of university students. Different aspects of students' attitude to distance learning in the conditions of coronavirus pandemic spreading have been described based on a survey of humanities students.
