Despite anecdotal reports of successful anticoagulation in CES patients with certain indications, irreversible renal failure, which was sufficiently severe to require chronic hemodialysis, eventually developed in our patient. Our results emphasize the pitfalls of this procedure, which imply its limited feasibility and safety.
