Democratic openness has faced the challenge of managing conflicts between those who defend the "victims" of the repression and those responsible for it. The punitive measures defined by the courts in the first moments of the opening and the attempts to annul them later produced debates that until today mobilize the Argentines. Justice, memory and history merge in this context and contemporary authors have shown concern about the "excesses of memory" that currently prevent the possibility of constructing the history of that period. The complex relationship between memory and history is the subject of this analysis that seeks to show ❑ the immo-ment between these two constituent elements of the historiographical production. It also seeks to reflect on the limits and possibilities of the so-called "History of the present time", which relies, above all, on the oral history as an indispensable tool in the reconstruction of the recent past.https://periodicos.ufpe.br/revistas/revistaclio/article/view/24758Military DictatorshipJusticeMemoryHistory
