Investigations on agronomic valorization of Jatropha curcas oilcake on millet (HPK variety) planted in rainfed conditions were conducted in 2009 and 2010 at the research station of ICRISAT at Sadoré/Niger. The study was aimed at determining variation of straw and grain yield of millet (HKP variety) under various doses of oilcake of J. curcas (2.5 t.ha-1, 5 t.ha-1, 10 t.ha-1) in comparison with 60 kg.ha-1 NPK (15-15-15). Fertiliser application was done at the beginning of each production campaign. The experimental design was completely randomized blocs including four treatments with four replicates for each treatment. During the two production campaigns, data collected concerned: straw and grain yield, and the number of fructified tillers per area unit. The efficient dose of application of J. curcas oilcake was determined from these parameters. The results of the two production campaigns showed higher grain and straw yield in plots J_10t followed by J_5t and treatment J_2.5t had the lowest grain and straw yields. The same trend was recorded for the number of tillers.
