Description
Summary:Bullying can be defined as continuous and intentional aggressive behavior among peers. It occurs in different places at school and can be physical, verbal and indirect. The main goal of our study was to describe bullying at school concerning its prevalence, types and places where it occurs and to develop an action program that seeks to solve and prevent it. We used a questionnaire adapted from Olweus to collect data from a Northeast region of Portugal. Results show that bullying is widespread at school: one in every four children was a victim for three or more times; there are many types of bullying but there is mainly insult and physical aggression; bullying takes place mainly at playground although children say they appreciate this place. These results ask for an action plan we succinctly describe.
