The purpose of research is to determine the extent of the level of resistance various new varieties of rice to brown planthopper pest rod in irrigated land. The research was conducted in the village Jangkurang, Leles District, Garut, West Java in March to August 2013. The method used in this study is a randomized block design with five treatments in the form of varieties and each treatment was repeated five times with farmers as replications. Varieties tested were Inpari-4, Inpari-13, Mekongga, Ciherang, and Sarinah. Data were analyzed by ANOVA followed by Duncan's multiple test. Results: Inpari 13 has a resistance more resistant to attack than the brown planthopper rod four other varieties, this is indicated by the percentage of planthopper pest lowest (10.1 percent), the population of planthoppers per clump lowest (3.8 tail per hill), as well as the level of production generated the highest (6.06 tons per ha) when compared with other varieties. http://e-journal.janabadra.ac.id/index.php/JA/article/view/194/172ricevarietiesplanthoppers
