The cells were stimulated by Co-Cr, Ti alloy, pure Ti and Au-Pd alloy extractions respectively, and DMEM was used as blank control. Protein productions of pro-inflammatory mediators and related mRNA expressions were measured with ELISA and RT-PCR. Statistics were tested with Wilcoxon matched-pairs test.Results ELISA and RT-PCR results showed the protein and mRNA expressions of interleukin-6, interleukin-1β, tumor necrosis factor-α in Ni-Cr and Ti alloy groups were both higher than the control group (z = 2.803, P = 0.005).
