Summary:The paper analyses the types, legal nature and other issues concerning fines in Croatian and European Competition Law. Relevant decisions of the Croatian Competition Agency and Court of Justice of the European Union (CJEU) demonstrating a fine calculation methodology will be discussed, as well as mitigating and aggravating circumstances that are taken into consideration in setting the amount of fines. Differences in regulation of the subject matter in domestic law compared to the EU law are pointed out. In conclusion, the procedure of enforcement of fines is explored based on analysis of available Croatian case law and EU case law.
