A lot of effort has been made in recent years to better understand the pathomechanics of this injury, with new surgical techniques being tried and even new anatomic structures being described. The objective of this paper is to review and compile the most important and recent literature on this matter, in an academic way, but oriented to clinical practice, so it can help surgeons keep updated in this so important subject.
