I. ServetnykUrothelial carcinoma of the prostate gland is an uncommon epithelial malignant tumor the frequency of which ranges from 1 to 5% of all prostatic tumors in men aged from 45 till 90 years old. Urothelial carcinoma of the prostate has been classified into primary and secondary types according to the place of initial tumor’s growth. Main morphological criteria necessary for verification of urothelial carcinoma are the following: special tumor’s tissue organization in a form of large solid tumor cell and anastomosing complexes, pronounced cellular and nuclear pleomorphism, high mitotic index, tendency to planocellular differentiation, development of comedonecrosis zones and apoptosis. The most important prognostic and predictive tumor marker is the presence of tumor cells invasion into prostatic stroma. According to the results of routine histological investigation of the prostate gland tissue of 77-years old patient with disorders of urination and according to previously discussed diagnostic criteria prostate urothelial carcinoma has been verified. http://pat.zsmu.edu.ua/article/view/17040/14732urothelial carcinomamorphological peculiaritiesprostate gland
