L’immagine ricostruttiva nei media: una indagine nei musei archeologici italiani

How do we use the virtual image to explain archaeology to the general public in the Museums? In order to answer to the question, this paper will consider the experiences of some Italian Archaeological Museums, which have disseminated their scientific contents and information via web. Technical means, graphic style and contents are often joined together, aiming to the creation of a completely new visual language. For what concerns specifically the forms of communication, it can be questioned whether or not the creators of the new languages are conscious of the impact of the images on the message itself. Facing the problem at the root, the clash between the perception of the object, as it was set in its original context, and the analysis of the researcher, who, observing its remains, proposes its reconstruction (emic-etic), makes quite difficult to define and declare the rules governing this process.
