Description
Summary:Specialized complex neurorehabilitation care is important part of the complex neurology care for survivors with acquired brain injury. In addition to physiotherapy and occupational therapy, it is necessary to provide a speech pathology and dysphagia care and as well psychological care. The Rehabilitation Centre Kladruby (RÚ) started a pilot complex neurorehabilitation program - Kranioprogram in 2015, with a guarantee of availability of speech and psychological care, based on the indicative criteria. A secondary dysphagia screening (n = 124) has also been introduced to help identify risk in patients with silent aspiration (n = 27) based on the experience of undetected silent aspiration. Based on these experiences, a dysphagia team was assembled. Currently, the Kranioprogram in the RÚ is fully funded by health insurance companies, with the aim of extending this programme to other rehabilitation facilities.
