Description
Summary:The evaluation of the fuel efficiency and a depth of marine low speed diesel engine  cyclic air cooling by transforming into a cold of the heat of hot water produced by the heat of exhaust gas and scavenge air and spended for heating demands during cool periods of the ship performance has been done. The influence of a depth of the scavenge air heat utilization upon the effect due to its cooling was investigated. It was shown that because of low efficiency of heat transformation by refrigerant ejector chiller caused by insufficient high heat potential of heating water (temperature of about 90 °С) the fuel saving is much more less than potentially possible its value.
