Summary:The article is aimed at systematizing, generalizing and critically analyzing of modern methodological approaches to assessing the level of digital transformation of the economy and society. The most well-known indices, which in one way or another reflect the level of digital transformation are analyzed: the ICT Development Index (IDI), the Digital Economy and Society Index (DESI), the Digital Evolution Index (DEI), the World Digital Competitiveness Index (WDCI), the Networked Readiness Index (NRI), the BCG Economic Digitization Index (e-Intensity). The advantages and disadvantages, commonities and differences of the existing international indices and ratings are defined. The relevance of the formation of new authorial indices, reflecting the level of readiness of countries for the digital transformation of the economy and the degree of digital globalization, is substantiated.
