Costo estimado de la cirugía ambulatoria en la fractura cigomática estable

Se realizó un estudio prospectivo relacionado con economía de la salud en 80 pacientes con fracturas cigomáticas estables. Los casos fueron distribuidos aleatoriamente en dos grupos similares: uno integrado por los tratados ambulatoriamente y el otro, por los hospitalizados en el servicio de Cirugía Maxilofacial del Hospital Provincial Docente "Saturnino Lora" de Santiago de Cuba durante los meses de abril a septiembre de 1994. El costo de un paciente con esta afección operado de forma ambulatoria resultó ser de $ 22,85, mientras que en el tratado bajo régimen de hospitalización fue de $ 222,33, lo que significó un ahorro por dicho concepto de $ 199,48. Como factores decisivos en este aspecto figuran los indicadores de hospitalización y unidad quirúrgica en el grupo ingresado. Este último fue estadísticamente significativo.<br>A prospective study about health economy in 80 patients with stable zygomatic fractures, was conducted. The cases were distributed at random into two similar groups: one composed of those who recived an ambulatory treatment, and the other consisting of the hospitalized at the Maxillofacial Department of the "Saturnino Lora" Provincial Teaching Hospital, in Santiago de Cuba from April-to September, 1994. The cost of a patient undergoing ambulatory surgery was of 22,85, whereas the cost of the patient treated at the hospital was of 222,33, which represents a saving of 199,48. Some of the decisive factors in this aspect are the indicators of hospitalization and surgical unit in the group admitted. The latter was statistically remarkable.
