Methods: participants were 10 mothers of children with CP who were performing physical therapy clinic in the School of Physiotherapy at the Universidade Estadual do Sudoeste Bahia - UESB, data collection was through a semistructured interview, the first part of a socio-demographic questionnaire and second part specific questions on the subject. The results were analyzed using thecontent analysis of Bardin. Results: Through the results emerged four categories: motor development; pathology, its causes and consequences; health professionals support; concomitant motor progress with physiotherapy. Conclusion: The data that were obtained showed a lack of knowledge of mothers on the condition that affects their children.
