The sample was made up of 72 patients (108 eyes) with a clinical diagnosis of neovascular glaucoma. The analyzed variables were age, sex, ophthalmological history, visual acuity, intraocular pressure and treatments used.

Results: there was a prevalence of the 60 to 69 age group and of the male sex. The latter had a 2:1 ratio regarding females. Diabetic retinopathy was the most frequent ocular pathological history in 58,3 % of the cases, followed by hypertensive retinopathy, 54,2 %. Monocular visual loss was present in 15 left eyes with nil vision, followed by 14 right eyes with perception vision to light; 27 left eyes presented a corneal thickness of 550 microns with a pressure higher than 21 mmHg. Cyclocryoablation treatment prevailed in eyes with medium opacity, followed by cyclophotocoagulation in eyes without medium opacity.
Conclusions: the patients with a diagnosis of neovascular glaucoma included in the study were characterized.http://revzoilomarinello.sld.cu/index.php/zmv/article/view/1297diabetic retinopathyneovascular glaucoma
