Description
Summary:Introduction: preconception reproductive risk is the probability that a non-pregnant woman will face up to herself or her product, if she becomes involved in the reproductive process. Objective: to characterize women with preconception reproductive risk at Camilo Cienfuegos Teaching Polyclinic, No. 11 doctor's office. Method: observational, descriptive and cross-sectional study in women with preconception reproductive risk belonging to a medical office in San Cristobal municipality from January to June 2019. The target group consisted of 40 patients; all of them were included in the study. Individual medical records were reviewed to collect the variables: age, educational level, preconception reproductive risk, contraceptive method and adverse reaction. Results: patients between 25 and 29 years old (32,5 %) with a mean age of 29,7 + 7,5 years old predominated. Pre-university educational level predominated (45 %). The short intergenerational cycle was the most frequent preconception reproductive risk (35 %). Intrauterine devices were used as a contraceptive method by 42,5 %. Amenorrhea was the main adverse reaction (47,5%). Conclusions: it is necessary to instruct women, especially during the second decade of life, who present short intergenerational cycles, use intrauterine contraceptive devices and suffer from amenorrhea as an adverse reaction, since they are prone to present preconception reproductive risk.
