Since Pt is rare and expensive metal, nanostructured carbonaceous materials have been widely investigated as a promising alternative to replace it. Carbon nanotubes have shown significant properties such as cost-effectiveness, environmental friendliness, availability, corrosion resistance and excellent catalytic activity towards the redox species make them ideal for replacing Pt in the CEs of DSCs.
