Description
Summary:The Bagatelle has been known since the early 18th century and strengthened as an instrumental miniature genre in the creation of Beethoven. The genre aspects of its history and theory are based on the analysis of Four bagatelles by P. Rivilis. The aphoristic concept characteristic of this genre is realised by P. Rivilis at the level of all parameters: limitation of melodic ambitus, transparency of structure, focus on aspects of colour, use of dynamic nuances and moderate tempos. The composer treats this genre in terms of folk music as well, using the rhythmic dance genre (Bagatelle III), elements of melodic ornaments and mixed polymetria (Bagatelles I and IV). In terms of teaching, these pieces are suitable material applied in the study of modern music, of complex three stave writing, of polymetria, of piano colouring.
