JUVENILE CRIMINALS IN DIAGNOSTIC PRACTICE – “THE SOCIAL AND LEGAL SITUATION OF A JUVENILE” QUESTIONNAIRE

A thorough diagnosis is the basis for the implementation of a proper educational and rehabilitative infl uence upon individuals that require the correction of attitudes. The present article is an introduction of the questionnaire titled “The Social and Legal Situation of a Juvenile”, which has been used by the diagnostic team at the Detention House for Juveniles in Dominów for about 20 years. Th e tool has been periodically evaluated in a consultation process and thus, it refl ects the most up-to-date and optimal version allowing for precise recognition and analysis of the situation of the juveniles and their families. At the same time, information acquired by the means of the questionnaire allows for proper educational action in institutional conditions. It also allows for changes in the attitudes of those from within the juveniles’ inner circle who are willing to participate in the process of their rehabilitation.
