Because of images’ agency, social actors related to Buenos Aires elite seek to exalt their virtuosity and religious identification. In this sense, this paper aims to study a group of images that played specific functions as active agents in familiar devotion, symbolic goods donated to public spheres with the aim of creation or renovation of a local cult, as well as images in dispute for their returning to private sphere.
