Summary:The purpose of this article is to analyze the processes of centralization of the health policies in Argentina through the case of the public system of Córdoba. We think that an exploration of the transformations of the provincial sphere is a valuable way to examine on the scope and content of the process of centralization of the public policies produced during the peronism. With that end, we inquire into the development of the provincial state through its administrative capacities and relationships with other providers during the first half of the twentieth century.
