Based on the methods of generalizing pedagogical experience, the scientific and methodological activity of the Department of Ethnology and Folklore of the Belarusian State University of Culture and Arts in teaching students authentic folklore was studied and generalized. The research results revealed the actual content of students' professional training and determined the priority pedagogical task – the development of the spiritual values of traditional culture.
