Summary:Coffee export in Vietnam has increased rapidly in recent years, ranking second in the world in terms of yields and export turn-over, but the revenue and profit of coffee export businesses are always affected by external and internal factors which leads to low export performance. This study is aimed to identifying the differences between theimportance and factual experience of factors affecting export performance. Qualitative research was conducted through face-to-face interviews of specialists in the field. The in-depth interview questions were built using the data collected through a quantitative questionnaire. The data analysis was conducted through Cronbach’s Alpha, EFA, and T-test regarding the importance and factual experience of factors affecting export performance. The research findings reveal that among the six factors affecting export performance there are big differences between importance and factual experience. Conclusions and implications for management are put foward to enhance export performance at coffee export businesses
