Description
Summary:The article analyses the impact the electoral system on the Romanian politics of the last 25 years. The main thesis is that, despite the eclecticism of electoral formulas and despite the frequent changes of the laws regulating political parties, stability was the main characteristic of the Romanian politics. The author provides numerous examples of the unpredictable and bizarre effects of the electoral formulas, but also data regarding the performance of the 10 parties that passed the electoral threshold, out of the 204 that enlisted in general elections.
