Observation on the influence of ganciclovir for serum and tear related indexes of patients with herpes simplex keratitis

Objective: To observe the influence situation of ganciclovir for serum and tear related indexes of patients with herpes simplex keratitis. Methods: A total of 82 patients with herpes simplex keratitis in our hospital from February 2014 to May 2015 were selected as the study object, and 82 patient...

Methods: A total of 82 patients with herpes simplex keratitis in our hospital from February 2014 to May 2015 were selected as the study object, and 82 patients were divided into control group (41 cases) and observation group (41 cases) by the method of random number table. The control group was treated with acyclovir and observation group was treated with ganciclovir. Then the serum and tear oxidative stress indexes (NO, TAC, MDA and GSH-Px) and other related indexes (β-MG, Zn, Cu and EGF) of two groups before treatment and at Day 3, 7 and 14 after treatment were compared. Results: The serum, tear oxidative stress indexes and other related indexes of two groups before treatment all had no significant differences, P ﹥ 0.05, while the levels of serum and tear NO and MDA as well as β-MG, Cu and EGF of observation group at Day 3, 7 and 14 after treatment were all lower than those of control group, and the serum and tear TAC, GSH-Px and Zn were all higher than those of control group. The detection levels of two groups after treatment were all different from the detection indexes before the treatment and the differences were significant (P ﹤ 0.05). Conclusions: The improvements of ganciclovir for serum and tear related indexes of patients with herpes simplex keratitis are more obvious, so it has better treatment effect for the disease.http://www.jhmuweb.net/PDF/201603/28.pdfGanciclovirHerpes simplex keratitisSerumTear related indexes.
