Summary:Aim of the study The purpose of this clinical study is to assess the contribution of local factors in the lesions of the oral mucosa caused when manifested insults exceed physiological limits leading to the appearance of pathological changes, called denture stomatitis. Material and methods The study group was represented by Mihail Kogalniceanu patients during 2011-2013, denture wearers for at least 1 year. Results:The essential factors involved in the etiology of denture stomatitis have been found to be varied, such as age and gender of the patient, continuing with bad habits such as smoking, poor oral hygiene and denture wear and of course denture instability. Conclusions: Dentures stomatitis affect a relatively large number of removable denture wearers, while having plurifactorial etiology.
