Summary:In Bolivia, particularly in La Paz and El Alto, there has been increased migration. This article addresses the transnational dimension of migration ‘from’ and ‘to’ these cities, to demonstrate the differences and particularities of its impact in families. Analyzing simultaneous interaction of six dimensions. The results reveal the existence of socioeconomic inequalities with signs of segregation and vulnerability; socio-spatial inequalities. The study demonstrated the multiple arrangements of migrant families and the solidarity in family networks. Due to the complexity in transnational migration it is a great challenge to investigate, due to the impacts in the places of origin and destination.
