Description
Summary:The aim of this work is to understand the conditions under which men take risk of contracting the virus that causes AIDS. It is a qualitative research, based on the Grounded Theory, with interviews with men who have sex with other men. The results show homosexuality as an improper conduct, for which the punishment is AIDS. The knowledge about the disease does not prevent risky behaviors; because, when looking for a relationship with the other, they are accepting the risk. The study concludes that the union of lack of affection and discrimination promotes an overvaluation of the couple encounters. The affection lived in that situation is equated to the recognition of a human being who is legitimated by another human being.
