Historical situations are discussed, previously to the advent of the capitalism, in colonial Brazil and in France of the 18th century, in which the worker's subjectivity was instrumentally mobilized. Elton Mayo's researches are seen as a special moment when the conservative industrial psychology "discovers" the subjectivity. Foucault's reflexion that the exercise of power supposes the use of liberty are also discussed in the context of the managerial practices. He examines the theory of human capital and the entrepreneurship ideology as new ways to influence the subjectivity, when the salaried society goes into crisis. Throughout this trajectory, the author argues that the mobilization of the subjectivity also has an anti-libertarian intention.http://pepsic.bvsalud.org/scielo.php?script=sci_arttext&pid=S1809-52672012000200004&lng=pt&nrm=iso&tlng=ptWorkUses of the subjectivityExploitation of worker
