| Summary: | The principle and method of square wave voltammetry (SWV) based measurement of the total acid number of petroleum products were introduced in this paper. The SWV-based measurement result was compared with the standard method based measurement result. Our research result shows that SWV has the advantages of quickness, sensitivity, small error, and high detection limit, and is accordingly feasible in testing engine oil acidity. Thus, this method is capable of detecting the acid value of lubricants and the law of oxidative degradation of engine lubricant. |
