In this context, Eastern EU countries have shown a lot of anxiety and reluctance to opening their societies to immigrants. The nature of this fear, beside the emerging threat of terrorism, is strongly linked to prejudices, and maybe to a chronic lack of know-how on integrating people without historical (or any other) ties with the host nation.
