It aims to set the grounds for a demonstration of the possibility of a concept which would synthesize Dumont's "hierarchy" with Levi Strauss's "reciprocity". Is is implied that this "redistributive" or "hierarchical reciprocity" would be differently institutionalized in specific situations.
