Summary:Within the context of the debate about the impacts of maquiladora plants established in Mexico, this essay shows empirical evidence about its labour performance and specifical-ly on the subject of occupational safety and health. The plot upholds that maquiladoraplants have a better performance than the non maquiladora companies since they presenthigher fulfilling levels of norms and regulations so as lower accidents rates. Amongmaquiladora companies, the ones that belong to transnational corporations reveal a betterperformance.
