The Specific Creative Character of V. I. Lozova

The aim of the paper is based on the system analysis of the activities of V. І. Lozova in the field of the pianoforte art, to reveal the specific features of her creative identity. Research methodology. The article uses fundamental, general scientific methods and principles of scientific knowledge, in particular, dialectical, culturological ones, as well as methods of objectivity, analysis and synthesis, deduction and induction, methods of systemic, comparative analysis. Results. On the basis of the system analysis of the artistic journey of the prominent representative of the Kharkiv pianoforte school V. І. Lozova, the author identifies the specific features of her pedagogical and performing activities. The factors that influenced the formation of the pianist’s creative identity are determined. The main methods and principles which had been used by the teacher in the work over the pianoforte repertoire are revealed. It is determined that the basis of her pedagogical and performing credo was: the inductive approach to studying a pianoforte piece; the careful work on sound quality and different types of touch; the special attention to intonation and figurative spheres of performance; the constant search for a new repertoire; the bold experiments in the field of pedalization; the use of the coloristic effects. It is argued that the synthesis of not only professional, but also personal qualities, such as perseverance in achieving the goal, extreme emotional openness, the love of life, optimism, sensuality, the courage in search of extraordinary solutions, has defined the specific features of the creative identity of V. I. Lozova. Novelty. The materials, highlighted in the article, from the funds of the State archive of the Kharkiv region made it possible to reveal the unknown facts from the biography of V. І. Lozova. The practical significance. The information contained in the article can be used in lessons of piano, as well as in courses of lectures Theory of Music and Musical Interpretation.
