Description
Summary:Introduction: changes in the dynamic of the attention in health, obligates to the search of new scenes where to do the process of education and learning of the medicine. Virtual and informatics techniques have been developed in the last decades and it becomes necessary to value its applicability and importance within the medical education. Objective: to identify if recent virtual technologies of the communication, media informatics and cybernetic tools are useful for the education and learning of the Medicine. Methods: thematic review with documents obtained in databases ScienceDirect, Scielo in Spanish and in the webpages of the reviews JAMA, Lancet and New England Journal of Medicine. Articles in English and Spanish were considered informatics platforms documents published between 1995 and 2015. Results: medical education could be enriched with the contribution that afford the technological, computer and virtual advances of recent introduction. Electronic devices, web pages, informatics platforms, applications (Apps), search engine, databases and virtual libraries provide images, videos, graphs and texts that contribute efficiently and facilitate the process of education and learning of the medicine. New currents of open access to the scientific information do that the new medical knowledge is available for all, as soon as it is published. The virtual social network contribute to the collaborative work and bring the researchers over between them. In the same way, they interact with teachers and students, without geographic or linguistic barriers. The laboratory of cybernetic simulation contributes to the acquisition of clinical and surgical experience and in the doctor-patient relationship. Conclusions: it is opportune to take advantage of the tools that offer the technologies of the information and the communications, due to they are valid in medical education. Teachers should include the informatics and the virtual tools to their educative practices. The medical students could consolidate their learning using electronic devices, apps and simulators and internet.
